  IF THE DAP IS MODED TO MANUAL PRIOR TO ET SEPARATION IN OPS 6,      
  AND REMAINS IN MANUAL MODE AT THE BEGINNING OF THE SEP, THE GRTLS   
  DAP MAY COMMAND UNWANTED ROTATIONAL JET FIRINGS, AND MAY BE         
  UNRESPONSIVE TO JET FIRINGS REQUESTED VIA RHC DEFLECTION, FOR       
  THE FIRST 3.5 TO 8 SECONDS IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING THE SEP, DEPENDING 
  ON THE ABORT TYPE. PITCH AND ROLL ROTATIONS WILL NOT BE AFFECTED    
  IN THE PRESENCE OF A MANUAL THC -Z BURN, AS THE GRTLS DAP IS        
  DESIGNED TO IGNORE PITCH AND ROLL ROTATIONS AND COMMIT THE JETS     
  TO THE TRANSLATIONAL MANEUVER IN THIS CASE. THE SAME PROBLEM IS     
  POSSIBLE FOR YAW ROTATIONS, BUT THE WINDOW IS LIMITED TO ONLY THE   
  FIRST .24 SECONDS AFTER THE SEP.

 USER RESPONSE:                                                       
                                                                      
  PROCEDURES ALREADY CALL FOR A MANUAL THC -Z MANEUVER IN THE ONLY    
  SCENARIO TO WHICH THIS MIGHT APPLY (3EO CONTINGENCY). IF, FOR ANY   
  REASON, THE CREW NEEDS TO HAND-FLY THE MC - ETSEP PHASE IN OPS 6,   
  AND NEEDS TO COMMAND ROTATIONS DURING THE FIRST FEW SECONDS OF THE  
  SEPARATION, IN THE ABSENCE OF A THC -Z MANEUVER, THEY WOULD NEED TO 
  QUICKLY RECYCLE THE DAP THROUGH AUTO AND BACK TO CSS. ROTATIONAL    
  CONTROL VIA THE RHC WOULD THEN BE RESTORED.
